Dempsey birth

Kevin and Jennifer Dempsey of Shallotte are the parents of a daughter, Kara Elizabeth Dempsey, born at 11:52 p.m. April 2 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, weighing 8 pounds, 1 ounce and measuring 20 inches long.

She joins brothers Sean, 9, and Ryan, 7.

Maternal grandparents are Lamont Jordan of Shallotte and the late Blair Jordan.

 Paternal grandparents are Kevin and Isabell Dempsey of Ocean Isle Beach.
