To the editor: “Ocean Isle Beach voted one of the best.” Sounds great, doesn’t it?
I have lived on a canal lot for seven years and have owned it for eight. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was pleased to find a nice island with friendly people, but also a fair amount of greenery on both ends of the island.
Soon I learned on the east end there was a small black bear, some deer and an assortment of wildlife. Among these were the dreaded feral cats that people don’t realize help to control the rat population.
