Dosher Memorial Hospital was chosen from more than 1,900 hospitals nationwide to receive the 2012 T-System Client Excellence Award for Rapid Process Improvement with an Emergency Department Information System (EDIS).
T-System Inc., the industry leader in clinical, business and IT solutions for emergency care, annually recognizes hospital and primary and urgent care clinic partners most effectively improving the quality of patient care and satisfaction, community health leadership, operational processes and financial results.
Dosher’s Emergency Department converted to T-System’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) system in April 2011. Changes in federal and insurance regulations, multiple patient safety requirements and the need for physicians to adopt computerized physician order entry (CPOE) were behind the hospital’s decision to upgrade to electronic documentation.
“Receiving the T-System Client Excellence Award speaks to the level of quality care our dedicated clinicians and staff provide daily in putting patients first at all times,” said Joann Turzer-Commesso, RN, director of emergency services at Dosher. “Electronic charting is an invaluable asset for timely patient care as well as meeting regulatory needs.”
In recognition of Dosher Hospital’s 2012 accomplishment, T-System made a $500 donation to the Dosher Memorial Hospital Foundation on behalf of the hospital. Dosher also received a commemorative plaque and will receive special recognition at the 2013 T-System linkED Emergency Care Conference next April in Dallas.
“We congratulate Dosher Memorial Hospital for being chosen as a 2012 T-System Client Excellence Award recipient in using T-System solutions to improve their entire ED care management operation,” said Sunny Sanyal, T-System’s chief executive officer. “This award clearly highlights the proficiency of these dedicated healthcare professionals in aggressively employing state-of-the-art information technology to vastly improve the lives of patients in their community.”
