Drug roundup

Agents with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit issued the following charges and made the following arrests last week. The suspects and their charges, which are taken directly from arrest reports and citations, are:

•John Wesley Bines, 29, of 465 Jabbertown Road, Southport; charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of simple possession of a schedule III controlled substance and simple possession of a schedule IV controlled substance. Bines was stopped at a DWI checkpoint Saturday night, where officers found 13 bags of crack and multiple pills.

•John Reid II, 21, and Rodney Bernard Brewer, 25, both of 1711 Orange St., Wilmington were each charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana, manufacture marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia following a sex offender check at their home.

•April Mae Luchkiw, 21, of 1284 Lanvale Road, Leland; charged with possession of ½ ounce or less of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

•Amber Tucker, 22, of 410 Atlantic Ave. Apt. 7, Southport; charged with possession of ½ ounce or less of marijuana.

•Brooke Cantwell, 18, of 4192 9th St., Southport; charged with possession of ½ ounce or less of marijuana.

•Kasi Lynn Smith, 18, of 4827 Long Beach Road, Southport; charged with possession of ½ ounce or less of marijuana.
