DWI arrests made in Sunset Beach

Five people were arrested on driving while impaired charges last week.

•Merrick Joseph Kacer, 37, of 226 Sea Trail Drive West, Sunset Beach, was charged with DWI on Nov. 27.

•Teresa Mendez Ramirez, 41, of 6749 Beach Drive, Ocean Isle Beach, was charged with DWI on Nov. 26.

•Laura Singleton Jenkins, 43, of 716 Pebblebrook Drive, Raleigh, was charged with DWI on Nov. 25.

•Shelly Lynn Yates, 49, of 7185 Westbrook Ave., Ocean Isle Beach, was charged DWI on Nov. 23.

•Kirkwood Scott Mengel, 51, of 28 Oak Lane, Danville, Va., was charged with DWI and reckless driving on Nov. 22.

In addition, Chris Allen Lewis, 41, of 227 Ocean Hwy. E., Supply, was charged with simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia on Nov. 26.
