An accident a few laps after the green flag waved ended Chad McCumbee’s race Friday in the ARCA Ansell Protective Gloves 150 at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Ill.
McCumbee started seventh out of 39 drivers. It was his best start of the season. He was credited with six laps and a 33rd-place finish.
The accident occurred when Casey Roderick, who started third, hit the wall. This caused a chain reaction that led to Mikey Kile turning into McCumbee. McCumbee suffered heavy front-end damage and was forced to retire.
