Eight arrested, three sought in county break-ins

Eight people were arrested and three more are wanted in a string of recent break-ins, according to a Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office news release issued Friday. Oct. 18.

Detectives recovered $20,000 in stolen property, according to the release.

Heather Nicole Barnes, 22, of Rutland Road in Boliviawas arrested Oct. 15 and charged with misdemeanor larceny after being accused of stealing a television from the Grey Gull Motel in Supply on Sept. 29.

Now, Barnes is wanted on charges breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering. She is accused of breaking into a home on Secession Drive in Supply and taking a television. 

Rachel Dawn Eades, 23, of Green Pine Drive in Supplyis wanted on charges of breaking and or entering, larceny after breaking and or entering, and resisting a public officer. She is accused of breaking into a home on Covey Lane in Supply and taking bed sheets and bathroom tissue Sept. 27. 

Christina Nicole Ward, 21, of Coastal Planes Road in Supplyis wanted on charges of breaking and or entering, larceny after breaking and entering and misdemeanor larceny.  She is accused of breaking into a residence on Secession Drive in Supply and stealing a television on Sept. 26 and of taking a television from the Gray Gull Motel in Supply on Sept. 29.

The eight people arrested by members of the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Detective Unit and the Vice-Narcotics Task Force are:

·      Christopher Sean Evans, 25, of Moore Street in Supply, who was arrested Oct. 7 and charged with a probation violation. He also was charged Thursday, Oct. 17 with breaking or entering, larceny after breaking or entering, and injury to real property. He is accused of breaking into a residence on Sabbath Home Road in Supply earlier this month and taking more than $27,000 in guns, ammunition and radio equipment. He is incarcerated at the Brunswick County Detention Facility on $20,000 bail.

·      Jeffrey Ryan Carlyle, 31, of Sabbath Home Road SW in Supply, who was arrested Oct. 11 and charged with a probation violation. He also was charged Thursday, Oct. 17 with breaking or entering, larceny after breaking and entering, injury to real property, and possession of a firearm by a felon in the case involving Evans. He is jailed on $55,000 bail.

·      Jonathan Blake Ferster, 21, of Gray Bridge Road in Shallotte, who was arrested Thursday, Oct. 17 and charged with breaking and entering, possession of burglary tools, larceny from the person, felony conspiracy (larceny from the person), two counts of breaking and or entering, and two counts of larceny after breaking or entering. He is accused of breaking into Shallotte Electric in Shallotte, as well as a home on Glenburnie Street in Calabash and Sirwood Place in Sunset Beach, and stealing a gun, camera equipment and jewelry between Aug. 10 and Oct. 17.  Ferster is incarcerated under $30,000 bail.

·      Kristopher Daniel Schultz, 27, of Dockside Drive in Holden Beach, who was arrested Thursday, Oct. 17 and charged with probation violations, obtaining property by false pretense and misdemeanor larceny. He is accused of taking rims and tires from someone. He is being held under $32,000 bail.

·      Wesley Wade Leggett, 25, of Green Pine Drive in Supply, who was arrested Oct. 14 and charged with breaking and entering. He is accused of breaking into a home on Covey Lane in Supply on Sept. 27. He was released on $2,000 bail.

·      Madison Nichole Walters, 21, of Green Pine Drive in Supply, who also was arrested Oct. 14 and charged with breaking and entering and larceny after breaking or entering. She is accused of breaking into a home on Covey Lane in Supply on Sept. 27 and stealing a box fan. She was released on $10,000 bail.

·      Omar Rivera, 21, of Chadwick Landing in Shallotte, who was arrested Oct. 12 and charged with three counts of possession of stolen goods and one count each of misdemeanor larceny, first-degree burglary, and larceny after breaking or entering. He is accused of breaking into a home on Jackson Street in Supply and stealing a television Oct. 11. He is incarcerated under $75,000 bail.

·      Jonathan Joel Velez, 19, of Bacons Bluff in Supply,who was arrested Oct. 12 and charged with three counts of possession of stolen property and one count of resisting a public officer. He also faces with multiple drug charges including two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of possession with intent to sell, manufacture, and deliver heroin, and two counts of selling/delivering heroin. Velez is incarcerated under $100,000 bail.
