Emergency Cape Fear bridge repairs to close lanes until August

The Cape Fear Memorial Bridge will undergo emergency repairs throughout the summer, causing daily lane closures and traffic delays.

The majority of the work will be completed during the evening, when all lanes of the bridge will be closed, North Carolina Department of Transportation division engineer Allen Pope said.

But daytime lane closures will also be needed to facilitate repairs, he added.
