Tentatively approved changes to the state’s animal shelter regulations could require North Carolina animal shelters, including Brunswick County, to follow new guidelines regarding the way dogs and cats are killed.
Designed to make euthanasia more humane, new rules approved Feb. 13 by the North Carolina Board of Agriculture require staff training, set equipment standards and allow for more state oversight.
