A grassroots approach may be needed to break restrictions on waterway dredging.
That was proposed at the latest Brunswick Beaches Consortium meeting June 13.
The Brunswick Beaches Consortium is a regional group charged with helping its members work together to solve challenges of beach erosion and to provide a group approach for beach preservation.
Harry Simmons, mayor of Caswell Beach and president of the Brunswick Beaches Consortium, said the way to make dredging area waterways cheaper is to expand the dredging window, or eliminate it entirely.
