Fall fishing continues to be great; Fall Brawl is this weekend

-A A +A
By Staff Brunswick Beacon

There is no doubt fall is here. We have had our first good cold snap, which is great news for fishermen and thankfully bad news for mosquitoes (they were getting a bit out of hand).

The cold weather has dropped the water temperatures to the low 70s and upper 60s, which is prime for king mackerel in the nearshore waters as well as the backwater fishing for redfish and speckled trout. As it continues to get colder, the offshore waters near the Gulf Stream will cool and create temperature edges, which will attract concentrations of wahoo.
