Festival, Coffey receive awards

At the recent North Carolina Association of Festivals & Events Showfest, the North Carolina Oyster Festival, hosted by the Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce, won several awards including event of the year, best brochure and best event photo. Kristin Coffey, the chamber’s festival and events director, earned the festival event director of the year award. 'Kristin has done an amazing job in planning, implementing and growing our festival,' stated chamber president Cathy Altman. 'Without her hard work and dedication, we would not have such a successful festival or the Event of the Year.'
