Inshore fishing often turns on the weather and that has certainly been the case for the month of August. Hot days and afternoon thunderstorms have been the rule, and though the temperatures will ease off a bit as we enter September, the familiar forecast calling for storms and rain will continue.
The effect of almost daily afternoon and evening storms has been felt for anglers: good morning fishing, cloudy and stained water after the thunder boomers and fish more likely to be caught on bait than lures.
