Fly Trap Farm offering $3,000 reward in Venus flytraps theft

Detectives are still looking for the people who stole $65,000 in Venus flytraps from

Fly Trap Farm in Supply sometime between 4:30 p.m. Sept. 25 and 7:30 a.m. Sept. 26.

The thieves stole more than 10,000 of the plants, as well as some tools, Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Emily Flax said. Poachers can be charged with a class 2 misdemeanor for each plant.

After previously offering a reward of $1,000, the owner of Fly Trap Farm is offering a reward of up to $3,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the crime.
