SHALLOTTE—Saturday morning, Bill Negron stood at the front of the fellowship hall at Camp United Methodist Church and announced volunteers would pass an offering plate.
It wasn’t a usual occurrence for residents attending this devotional session that precedes the weekly food pantry distribution, but Negron said an offering will be an integral part of the newly launched Cornerstone Ministry, a nonprofit aimed at aiding the food pantry and its recipients.
