To the editor: The brutal move, referenced in the letter (about Shallotte Point being bulldozed), implies the town of Shallotte is actively seeking the annexation of properties on the “Point.” This is not true.

Shallotte has not asked or requested any of the annexations mentioned in the letter. All of the annexations of properties on the “Point” have been voluntary.
