Former Shallotte Police detective pleads guilty

During the Dec. 14, session of Superior Court in Brunswick County former Shallotte Police Detective Eric Proctor King plead guilty to one count of making false statements on an application for insurance during an incident that occurred on Jan. 27, 2011.

King appeared in front of Honorable Greg Bell, a Superior Court Judge from Robeson County, and was sentenced to a term of 45 days. That sentence was then suspended by the court and King was placed on unsupervised probation for a term of 18 months.
