BOLIVIA—A former Southport Police officer has been indicted on four charges.
A Brunswick County Grand Jury on Monday, July 19, returned true bills of indictment on David Benjamin Rivenbark, charging him with altering, destroying or stealing criminal evidence, misdemeanor larceny, embezzlement by a local officer or employee and obstruction of justice, according to court documents.
Southport Police Chief Jerry Dove said Rivenbark, 25, who had been with the department as a probationary officer for about 13 months, resigned June 24.
