Future of Calabash Fire Department debated at heated board meeting Tuesday night

CALABASH—Board members came close to relinquishing the Calabash Fire department over to Brunswick County on Tuesday night, then voted to table a letter to that effect until local town leaders can meet with county officials.

During often heated discussion, fire department board member Carl Naecker expressed frustration that neither mayor in Calabash or Carolina Shores has met with the board.
