Future of U.S. 17 at stake in Carolina Shores

CAROLINA SHORES—What does the future hold for U.S. 17?

It’s an ongoing topic of discussion in Carolina Shores that continues this week.

The town’s planning and zoning board will meet Wednesday with transportation planner Don Eggert of the Cape Fear Council of Governments. They will resume discussion about the 3-mile stretch of U.S. 17 corridor that is under Carolina Shores’ municipal domain.

The Aug. 20 workshop is at 3 p.m. in the meeting room at town hall, 200 Persimmon Road.
