Gamble pays off for BCC in last-inning win over Hudson Valley

SHALLOTTE—Brunswick Community College used a daredevil play to beat Hudson Valley in the second game of a doubleheader Monday night.

The Dolphins fell 1-0 in the first game.

The bats for both teams started working in the nightcap, and the score was tied 3-3 heading into the Dolphins’ half of the seventh.

Jeremy King reached on a throwing error and got to second on a wild pitch. Then with two outs, Denver Nixon drilled a base hit up the middle that couldn’t score King because it was hit too hard.
