Get to know your neighbors at town events

-A A +A

Brunswick County is a vibrant community. From the north end of the county to the southern border and all points in between, there is usually an event or community activity going on year-round.
This is especially true during the holiday season, when towns are busy planning events. Most of the county’s incorporated towns plan events this time of year.
The biggest tends to be Ocean Isle Beach’s Super Saturday, which traditionally takes place the Saturday after Thanksgiving. It’s the kickoff to the season locally. You can see photos from the weekend event in this issue.
But there are still lots of opportunities to get out and meet your neighbors at area events. Holden Beach and Calabash will have tree-lighting ceremonies. Shallotte will have a tree-lighting, parade and Christmas on the River this Saturday. Other towns have upcoming events including parades, concerts and more.
Be sure to read the Beacon each week to find out what’s going on in your community. And don’t forget to share photos and information about your activities. Whether you’re involved in a church, town or community group, we want to get the word out to others.
Send your announcements to editor@brunswickbeacon.com. Deadlines are noon each Friday.
Enjoy the holiday season right here at home in Brunswick County.
