The BMGA game of the day for Monday two best balls of the foursome. Winners at -22 were Harvey Hundley, Al Ostrager, Jim Pope and Lester Craft. In second at -14 were Bernie Gruwzleski, Gary McDaniel, Tom Kronyak and Paul Salerno. The team of Bob Nobes, Bob Janovic, Dave Harper and Morris Hall were third at -4.


Rita DuGan, Glen Green and Bob Nobes were victorious amid cold and wet fairways with a 5-over par in the Brierwood nine-hole mixed scramble Jan. 27. Finishing second was the team of Sharon Beavers, Marianne Nobes, Fran Thomas and Ralph Trimmer.


On Jan. 25 at The Legends Parkland Course, the members played a modified Stableford, with Sid Pennington placing first at +2, Frank Janton second at +1, Jerry Rubin and Joe Gallo third at -2. Vonh Hincher, Jim Kennedy and John Ogden were next at -4. Joe Meo and Rich West shot a -5, George O’Connell and John Ducey shot a -6. Boomer Needham and Jen Dearborn shot a -8. O’Connell and Janton had fewest putts (32). Closest to the pin went to Steve Maiorca at 5 and Sid Pennington at 13.

On Jan. 27 at Meadowlands, Ned Meier, Steve Maiorca, Hugh Chinn and John Ducey placed first with a 145. Format for the day was reverse cha-cha-cha. Sid Pennington, Vonh Hincher, George O’Connell and Joe Gallo placed second.

On Friday, Ron Doblin and Joe Gallo placed first with a 75. The two-man teams scored one net on the par-4 and par-5 holes and one gross on the par-3s. Steve Maiorca and Vonh Hincher placed second on a match of cards to beat Sid Pennington and John Ducey.


On Friday, the Calabashers played a Stableford match at Eagles Nest Golf Course. The winning team was Rod Rodriguez, Bill Miller, Charlie Weber and Ken Locatelli at -1.

In second were Tony Obrien, Tom Leach, Mike McCormack and John Duthie at -1.5.

Neither cold nor wind nor wet fairways could keep the CCMGA from the course Jan. 26, and the results reflect the effects of the weather. The formats: six three-man teams, total net quota points, and individual best net quota points within each flight. Team winners: Carl Graves at -3, John Buddemeyer at +3 and Ed Scanlan at even for a team score of even. In second at -1 points were Walt Fedyna at -1, Andy McCorison at -2 and Coach Winsett at +2. Getting back in the game at Carolina Shores, the Renegades team of P.J Bagley, Teddy Altreuter, Karen Hertling and a draw scored 145 in a game of two low nets per foursome. Second went to the team of Martha Hannon, Kathy Harniman, Nancy Rubin and Sharon Clark with a 146 on a match of cards over Laura Duncan, Debbie Courtemanche and Carolyn Bosman.

Carolyn Bosman took low-net and low-gross honors with a 69 and a 101. Karen Hertling had second low gross with a 103 with Kathy Harniman third with a 107. Kathy Harniman had second low net (71) and Karen Hertling third low net (74).

Karen Hertliing had a birdie. Nancy Rubin had a chip-in and Martha Hannon had fewest putts (33).
