FORE! KIDZ tourney is May 19
The South Brunswick Islands Rotary Club is having its 18th Annual FORE! KIDZ golf tournament May 19 at Tiger’s Eye in Ocean Ridge Plantation. Last year’s tournament helped the club raise more than $21,000. These funds support many local community nonprofit programs. The tournament is a major fundraiser for SBI Rotary.
Mary Ellen Good, president, commented, “The focus of our club’s fundraising continues to be the youth of our local community. We have a fully endowed scholarship at Brunswick Community College and we also extend four scholarships to graduates of West Brunswick High School. Each year we give a dictionary to third-grade students and we promote good citizenship through our Citizenship Awards for elementary school students. We also support Girls on the Run, a program for building self-esteem among young girls. These are just a few of the community programs we support through funds raised each year at our FORE! KIDZ Golf Tournament.”
There will be three flights of play with a payout to the first-, second- and third-place teams in each flight. The entry fee is $500 for a foursome. Entry forms are at www.sbirotary.org. Anyone interested in signing up a foursome to play or becoming a local sponsor may email Lin Kelly at lin@linkelly.com.
