Shrine Club golf tourney Oct. 27
The South Brunswick Islands Shrine Club golf tourney starts at 9 a.m. Oct. 27 at Brierwood. Entry fee is $60 per golfer and covers refreshments and lunch. Entry deadline is Oct. 22. Ladies on the Links tourney is Nov. 1
Magnolia Greens is hosting Ladies on the Links Nov. 1. It is a golf tournament for ladies and a ladies’ expo. The format is two-player captain’s choice. In addition, there will be competition for the Orchid Cup as part of the golf tournament.
Any course that has four or more teams participating is eligible to win the cup, based on the total of the four best scores from a given course. From 9-11 a.m. is registration and ladies’ golf expo: breakfast, vendors featuring products and services for lady golfers, putting tournament, clinics and open practice range. The shotgun start is 11 a.m. Lunch will be served at three serving stations on the course. The awards ceremony is 3 p.m. with door prizes and hors d’oeuvres. Entry fee is $75 per person. Calabash VFW tourney Nov. 12
Calabash VFW Post 7288 will host its annual golf tournament Nov. 19 at Sea Trail Golf Links Byrd Course. The event is open to men and women with flight awards, golf course awards and door prizes. There’s a 7:30 a.m. show time and an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. After the golfing, the participants return to the Calabash VFW for lunch and refreshments. The cost is $140 per two-person team and proceeds from the event will benefit the Wounded Warriors, a program committed to helping U.S. troops adjust to life after suffering the wounds of war. Entry forms are available at the Post at 900 Carter Drive and they must be submitted with payment by the Nov. 12 entry deadline. For more information, call the Calabash VFW at 579-3577.

Tee off for veterans Nov. 24
On Nov. 24, Rolling Thunder SC3 will play its annual golf tournament at Crown Park Golf Course. It will be a captain’s choice with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. The fee is $60 per person, $240 per team. There will be a 50-50 drawing, door prizes and dinner to follow immediately after the tournament at the VFW Post 10804, 111 Highway 57, Little River, S.C.
