Jennifer Claire Grissett and Matthew Scott Bookout of Shallotte were married May 16 by the lake at his parents’ home.

The Rev. James Taylor officiated the double ring ceremony.

The bride is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Walter Grissett of Supply. The groom is the son of Scott and Janet Bookout of Shallotte.

The bride was given in marriage and escorted by her father to the trains of “The Wedding March” on bagpipes.

The bride wore an ivory satin fitted dress with a split front and inverted drapes front and back. Her hair was dressed in cascading curls accented with white baby’s breath flowers.

She wore a single strand of Akoya pearls, a gift from her paternal grandmother, and carried a bouquet of yellow and white silk roses.

Nicole Lopez served as the bride’s attendant and maid of honor. She wore a tea-length gown of black and white floral silk and carried a silk bouquet matching the bride’s.

Jamie Walton served as best man.

The bride and groom exchanged matching white gold wedding rings.

A pig picking reception followed the ceremony with a three-tier floating chocolate raspberry wedding cake as the centerpiece.

The bride is a 2006 graduate of West Brunswick High School and is a student at Brunswick Community College.

The groom is a 2009 dean’s list graduate of Brunswick Community College and a 2005 graduate of West Brunswick High School.

The couple resides in Lakeside, Shallotte.
