Help students with college financial aid--vote for ‘Dancing’ stars

Friday night will be a big night for Brunswick County, most specifically Brunswick Community College.

Beginning at 6 p.m., activities will kick off to celebrate the second annual “Dancing with the Brunswick County Stars.”

The event raises money for scholarships for Brunswick Community College students and will feature dancers from the community along with their talented, professional dance partners. Many have been preparing for this event for months.

Last year, “Dancing” raised more than $200,000 for the Brunswick Community College Foundation. Organizers are hoping this year’s event will be even more successful.

If ticket sales are any indication of how the fundraiser may do, it’s well on its way to being highly successful. Some 500 tickets at a cost of $100 each have already been purchased, meaning it is a sold-out event.

But even though there are no more seats available, it doesn’t mean you can’t help BCC students. By going online to http://www.brunswickcollegefoundation.com/dancing_stars.asp you can see a complete list of this year’s dancers and you can vote for your favorites. Votes are $10 each, and you can vote as many times as you like.

A lot of hard work has gone into this event, from behind-the-scenes planning to countless hours of practicing and fundraising. Thanks to everyone who has helped with the event. We’re looking forward to seeing the totals when they come in.
