We have had a mild winter so far, but do you remember the little cold snap back in October? That was the night I joined a few other Brunswick County citizens to participate in a homeless awareness event organized by Brunswick Family Assistance (BFA) and hosted be Building HOPE Ministries on the grounds of its office site in Supply.
It was cold! The cardboard shelter and borrowed blankets from the BFA Thrift Store offered little help, but I survived that one night, and my compassion for our homeless neighbors was increased.
