Spring fishing can be a difficult time to stay on the bite. The rising water temperatures bring more and more life back to our waters every day. Redfish that were holed up in their protected winter hide outs start to move around, looking for new food sources. Redfish can often get stubborn this time of year when they key in on certain bait. As blue crabs start to molt, they will become the main diet for most of our redfish. Taking a regular hard shell crab and peeling the lid can be effective bait this time of year.
