The Holden Beach Police Department investigated the following incidents and made the following arrests. All information is taken directly from police incident and arrest reports.

A kilo of marijuana washed ashore on Holden Beach on June 11.

The package is flat and rectangular, like a base on a baseball diamond, but was cut down the middle.

Officers speculated the contraband was dumped from a boat — it was cut open to sink instead of float — but it still ended up on the beach where a vacationer on the 800 Block of Ocean Boulevard West found it and called the police department.

Sgt. Michael Hamilton collected the marijuana and took it to the police evidence locker to be disposed of.
