SHALLOTTE—Come join The Brunswick Beacon and more than 40 vendors at Brunswick County’s first-ever Christmas show, the Beacon’s own Holiday Happenings Christmas Show.

The Holiday Happenings Christmas Show is free and open to the public. The family-friendly event will unfold 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at West Brunswick High School in Shallotte. The show will be in the school’s cafeteria and front lobby.

Angie Sutton, advertising director at The Brunswick Beacon, said there is something for people of all ages at the show.

More than 40 vendors will be on hand to showcase goods, which range from holiday wreaths and bows to jewelry and gifts. While the show has a holiday theme, Sutton said there are plenty of other items for those looking for gifts or crafts not necessarily dedicated to the holiday season.

But for those who are in the Christmas spirit, there will be plenty for them, too.

At 9:45 a.m., Santa will arrive on a Shallotte fire truck. Santa will take photos with children from 9:45 until 2 p.m. There is no charge for photos or to give Santa your Christmas list, Sutton said.

Throughout the day the West Brunswick High School Show Choir will perform Christmas carols and other holiday favorites. They’ll also have a bake sale to benefit their program.

Throughout the day there will be free train rides for children, and Mark Vann, the Christian Magician, will perform.

At 11:30 a.m., the show-stopping fashions of Island Breeze in Sunset Beach will be unveiled with a holiday fashion show.

Attendees can get Christmas tree and holiday floral ideas from Coastal Florist.

There will be door prizes and many vendors will give away prizes, Sutton said.

“We have been fortunate enough to partner with ATMC, which is a major sponsor, to be able to provide a free show. It’s Brunswick County’s first-ever Christmas show. The train rides are free; the pictures with Santa are free. It’s all free except for the merchandise you purchase. You can get holiday and Christmas tree ideas, and enjoy not just Christmas vendors, but other vendors as well,” Sutton said.
