Holmes pitches Trojans to victory over Hampstead

Brock Holmes struck out nine batters in five innings and hit a home run as the Southwest Trojans won 9-1 Saturday at Hampstead in a Junior American Legion baseball game.

Holmes gave up one hit and walked one. At the plate, Holmes was 1-for-3 with the home run and two RBIs.

Alex Memory pitched the last two innings. Hampstead scored its only run in the seventh.

For the Trojans (6-1), Hunter Allen was 2-for-4 with a walk. Justin Cook was 3-for-5 with two doubles and three RBIs. Nick Napolitano was 2-for-2 with a double and a walk. Jesse Simmons was 1-for-1 with a walk and one RBI. Jay Gause was 1-for-4 with a walk. Memory was 1-for-3 with one RBI. Damian Burney was 2-for-4 with two doubles and a stolen base. Tim Powell was 2-for-3. Joshua Cortes had a walk.
