Hornes celebrate 50 years

Robert and Judy Horne of Ocean Isle Beach celebrated their 50th anniversary May 20. The couple was honored with a dinner May 1 hosted by their church, Ocean View Baptist, and attended by family and friends. Their children surprised them with a trip to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, Tenn. Robert Horne is retired from the City of Charlotte. Judy Horne is retired from Sperry New Holland of Charlotte and the U.S. Postal Service in Charlotte and Shallotte. They were married at the home of the bride’s sister, Linda Bass and husband Pat of Charlotte, by the Rev. Dan Sherwood. The couple has two children, Lundee Nance and husband Doug of Ocean Isle Beach and DeLanie Hargett and husband Steve of Charlotte; and two grandchildren. The couple has lived at Ocean Isle Beach for 17 years and are active in their community.
