Reports that the Brunswick Community Hospital building could be torn down have drawn renewed interest to the building.
County Manager Ann Hardy said a report about demolishing the old hospital, which has sat idle for the most part for the past two years, came out of recent e-mails updating county commissioners on the building’s status.
News of the building’s possible demise spurred the interest of four groups, Hardy said. One group took a tour of the closed hospital Friday, while the others asked for information on the building.
