CALABASH—Two Calabash residents have been arrested for an indoor marijuana growing operation.
Lee David Foster, 40, and Melissa Marie Foster, 37, both of 1088 Clubview Lane, Calabash, were arrested after narcotics agents with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office broke up their marijuana growing operation on Thursday, Dec. 6.
The arrests were a result of an investigation by the BCSO Narcotics Enforcement Unit.
The BCSO is calling it “an elaborate indoor growing operation” at the residence. Narcotics agents seized 38 marijuana plants ranging in size from 2 inches to more than 2 feet in height.
Agents also seized various drug paraphernalia and equipment used to plant, propagate, cultivate and manufacture marijuana including lights and irrigation equipment.
The Fosters were each charged with maintaining a dwelling to keep and sell a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, manufacture, sell and deliver a controlled substance and felony manufacturing a controlled substance
