Inshore fishing action busy for redfish, flounder

There is a lot of inshore fishing action right now on the Brunswick County shores, as a lot of different fish are hitting. The piers are having great success on Spanish mackerel and bluefish as well as bottom fishing targets like whiting, while inshore action on redfish and flounder is strong.

Spanish mackerel are caught at the ends of our ocean piers in the deepest water. They hit Gotcha-style pencil plugs thrown by anglers trying to catch them as well as bluefish. Spanish favor plugs with some gold or silver on them, as they are attracted to anything shiny.
