-A A +A
By Caroline Curran, Reporter

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH—State, county and municipal officials converged on Wrightsville Beach on Friday morning expecting to receive answers about the recently approved increases in homeowners’ insurance rates in coastal counties.

But no one from the N.C. Department of Insurance attended the meeting, originally slated to include Rose Williams, legislative counsel for the department of insurance.

N.C. Insurance Commissioner Jim Long recently approved a rate schedule, which would increase homeowners’ insurance rates up to 30 percent in coastal counties.
