The UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter touched down Friday at Jessie Mae Monroe Elementary School in conjunction with the STARBASE program.
STARBASE is a hands-on educational program focusing on science, math, technology, positive personal goal setting, substance abuse prevention and teamwork skills. Aimed at fifth-grade students, students learn aerodynamics, engage in flight simulation activity, test Newton’s three laws of motion, and build and launch rockets at the end of the program.
