The tennis play day March 10 was greeted with excitement by kids ages 4-14. The event was at the Ocean Isle Beach Park. Brunswick County Tennis Association provided specially sized rackets and balls and the younger players played on kid-sized courts. Every youngster got some tennis tips from a local pro and they were treated to prizes and free pizza.
The new tennis courts at Southport had a grand-opening ceremony Saturday. Many enthusiastic players joined in the matches and spectators were treated to some competitive tennis.
