Jury selection begins in judge's libel case

BOLIVIA—Jury selection has begun in a libel case filed by District 13 Senior Resident Superior Court Judge Ola Lewis against media strategist Edward Rapp.
Selection was to begin Tuesday afternoon at the Brunswick County Courthouse following preliminary pretrial proceedings that morning.
The case is being presided over by visiting Superior Court Judge F. Lane Williamson of Mecklenburg County.
Williamson decided against defense attorney Hugh Stevens’ motion to disqualify Lewis’ attorney, Lonnie Williams, on grounds Williams is a witness in the case.
