The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office K-9 enforcement team answers calls, conducts driver’s license checkpoints and assists with other agencies when K-9s are needed.

Officers with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Enforcement Team answered 34 calls last week, issued five uniformed citations and six total charges. K-9 officers targeting the following areas: North Mulberry Street, McMilly Road, Longwood Road, Freedom Star Road, West Ocean Highway, Seaside Road, Holden Beach Road, Turkey Trap Road, U.S. 74-76, Maco Road, Cedar Hill Road, Lanvale Road, Blue Banks Road, Vineyard Landing, Jerry’s Trail and N.C. 211.

K-9 officers conducted driver’s license checkpoints on Mount Misery Road, Lackey Road and Cedar Hill Road.

The suspects and their charges, which are taken directly from arrest reports and citations, are:

•David Lee Shaw, 21, of 514 Flintlock Road, Chesapeake, Va.; cited for carrying a concealed weapon.

•Eric Alonzo Brown Jr., 23, of 4972 Blue Banks Loop Road NE, Leland; charged with driving while license revoked, failure to heed light or siren, possession of ounce or less of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

•Lance Timothy Wallace, 41, of 3980 Carriage Lane, Leland; cited for expired inspection.

•Allen Robert Karpinsky, 28, of 8070 China Berry Lane, Leland; cited for driving while license revoked.

•Robert H. McPeck, 25, of 9005 Avery Road, Baldwinsville, N.Y.; cited for expired inspection.
