The K-9 enforcement team answers calls, conducts driver’s license checkpoints and assists with other agencies when K-9s are needed.
From Jan. 22-25, deputies with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Enforcement Team answered 18 calls, issued eight uniformed citations and made six drug arrests.
K-9 officers set up driver’s license checkpoints in the following areas: Ocean Isle Beach Road, Mount Misery Road and Main Street in Navassa.
K-9 deputies issued charges for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while license revoked, no insurance, expired registration and no operator’s license.
