CONCORD—Kasey Kahne inherited the lead for the last time with three laps to go in the 400-lap Coca-Cola 600 Sunday, after the leader Tony Stewart hit the wall with a blown right front tire.
Kahne had been the previous leader but fell behind Stewart after a round of late pit stops for fuel and was running about five seconds behind Stewart.
It was the second win in a row for Kahne. Last week he won $1 million for winning the All-Star race, but it was the first points race win since the fall of 2006 for the driver of the Evernham-Gillette No. 9 Dodge.
