To the editor:
Another Bain company is closing, jobs going to China. Employees have begged Mr. Romney to denounce this, to put his mouth where his money is. He refused, citing his “blind trust.”
Sensata made $500 million profit last year, paying employees $17 an hour. China employees will be paid 99-cents an hour. More than 170 U.S. employees will be tossed aside like garbage after decades of hard work that produced results.
Meanwhile, Romney stands before a podium blathering about good-paying jobs in the U.S. and getting tough on China.
Hypocrisy turns my stomach. Americans are still the greatest consumers. Bain may save money outsourcing, but in the long run, it’s bad for business. Who’s going to buy what these companies produce?
Romney has no moral compass. A man’s soul is
reflected by his deeds, not his words. Romney supports tax policies that reward outsourcing. Obama supports tax policies that discourage this.
According to Romney, “I’m going to cut taxes by 20 percent, increase military spending, and it’s all going to be deficit neutral because I am a businessman and I say so.” We have three mortgages. If he’s going to eliminate this deduction, I want to know now, not after the election.
Until he comes clean on numbers Romney is selling snake oil. If you believe he will create good paying jobs here, then vote for him, but by every economic trend, the national economy is improving.
On Nov. 6, I say keep on trucking forward and never look back.
