Knights of Columbus has free throw contest

Our Lady of the Rosary Knights of Columbus Council Number 9039 had the annual Knights of Columbus free throw championship Nov. 17 at Shallotte Middle School. Twenty-nine boys and girls ages 10-14 from Brunswick County competed.
The following girls won their age group: Shelby Everhart, Telea Vereen, Sadie Benoy and Kaitlyn Bellamy. The following boys won their age group: Jadyn Parker, De’Andre’ Clarida, Campbell Pryor, Caden Ward and Brandon Patterson. The winners will continue on to the district level early next year.
Assisting in the event were Robert Grimes, assistant superintendent of Brunswick County Schools; Paul Price, principal of Shallotte Middle School, the physical education instructors at the elementary and middle schools; Brian Moore, athletics director of Brunswick County Department of Parks and Recreation.
These members of the Knights of Columbus of Council Number 9039 also helped: Paul Lombardi, Rick Banchansky, Kevin Lutzy, Jim Counillom, Rich Rismiller, Rich Korn, George Scheidle, John Grant, Jim Yeager, Will Marnura, Ray Gromadski, Carl Smith, Chuck Van Buren and volunteer George Collins.
