Lady Scorpions sprint past South Brunswick

LELAND—North Brunswick moved a step closer to securing the No. 1 seed from the Waccamaw 1A/2A Conference in the Class 2A high school girls’ basketball playoffs with a 57-40 victory against county rival South Brunswick Friday night.

With one conference game remaining in the regular season (Monday at South Columbus), the Lady Scorpions (7-4 conference, 14-6 overall) were one win away from that goal.

They also clinched at least a share of the Brunswick County championship, with a season-ending game against West Brunswick Friday night to determine the champ.
