BOILING SPRING LAKES—The North Brunswick Lady Scorpions fought hard for Friday’s 50-27 high school girls’ basketball victory against South Brunswick.
The Lady Cougars fought among themselves.
North Brunswick had no trouble, jumping out to a 13-3 first-quarter lead and increasing the margin to 19-4 by halftime of the Waccamaw 1A/2A Conference game.
Coach Travis Fortune said the key to the Lady Scorpions’ victory was their defense and the ability to make South Brunswick start its offense farther from the basket than usual.
