Larcenies, credit card fraud in Sunset Beach

SUNSET BEACH—Police investigated a jewelry theft reported May 23.

A diamond ring with five birthstones and a blue topaz ring were reported stolen from a home on Egret Drive.

Credit card fraud was reported May 27. The victim said someone used his credit card without permission in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Other reported incidents included:

•A license plate was reported stolen May 27 from a vehicle in a parking lot at 1601 Seaside Road.

•10-mg hydrocodone tablets were reported stolen May 21 from Walgreens.

•A golf cart that had been reported stolen was recovered May 20 from a ditch on Oak Street in Ocean Isle Beach.

•Charles Ray Pound, 54, of Columbia, N.C., was arrested May 15 and charged with driving while intoxicated and a traffic violation and taken to Brunswick County Detention Center. According to a police report, Pound ran a red light.

•The passing of a $100 counterfeit bill was reported May 14 at Dollar General Store on Seaside Road.

•A breaking and entering was reported May 6 at a home on Magnolia Drive. Someone broke into the residence and lived there for about a month and rang up a $148.39 phone bill. A 27-inch Sharp television, Emerson VCR, and Panasonic DVD player and writer were also reported stolen.

•Larceny by an employee was reported May 4 at the Waves Beachwear store. According to a police report, items were taken and hidden behind the store. Items reported stolen included three beach towels, an umbrella stand, seven pairs of sandals, three bottles of suntan lotion, 12 sundresses and a beach bag.
