League-leading Patriots sweep South Brunswick

The Pender High School girls’ and boys’ basketball teams swept South Brunswick last Tuesday to remain unbeaten in the Waccamaw 1A/2A Conference.

Pender’s girls rolled to a 70-31 victory against the visiting Lady Cougars. The Patriots won the boys’ game 63-58 in overtime despite 24 points from South Brunswick’s Ervin Hall.

Pender’s boys overcame a five-point deficit late in the fourth quarter and held the Cougars to three points in overtime.
