LELAND—Leland’s biggest issues in 2013—Gateway District zoning and business sign upgrades—were pushed forward at the April 18 meeting.
The Gateway district rezoned Leland’s downtown—from the U.S. 17 exit along Village Road and into the surrounding area—using Flexcode zoning that promotes mixed-use development.
Leland senior planner Ashli Barefoot said the rezoning will cover 500 acres and 410 parcels of land around the downtown area.
